THE COMMUNITY PITCHES IN AT VERNON
In spring 2009, about 100 volunteers from Oakland law firm Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP spent several weekends working on a new landscaping installation at Clausen House's Vernon Street residence.
The project was coordinated by Rebuilding Together Oakland under the leadership of landscape architect Richard Larson. Donated services were provided by McGuire & Hester.
The Wendel volunteers were joined by Clausen House clients, staff, and board members. Complimentary massages were provided by Darryl Choy, and lunch was donated by Whole Foods.
