Kathleen Callahan grew up in Piedmont. Formerly a professional cellist, Kathleen has been a real estate broker for for over 26 years and serves on the board of directors of the Oakland Association of Realtors. Kathleen and her husband, Andreas Neyer, have two children, Sarah and Christoph. Kathleen started volunteering for Clausen House after her good friend Nan Butterworth became the organization's executive director.
Robert Carloni, an East Bay resident for more than 30 years, was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in that area. After receiving a degree in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Bob moved to Berkeley in 1975. For most of his career, he has worked for Tesoro Corporation and its predecessors at the Golden Eagle Refinery in a variety of operations planning, process engineering, and environmental engineering functions. Bob's wife, Linda, is an attorney; their children are grown and still live in the Bay Area. Bob's brother, Gus, lives at Clausen House's Vernon residence. Bob has been active in Scouting and in CYO athletics, and for several years he served on the school board of the School of the Madeleine. Bob is an avid birder, an avid traveler, and an avid reader of mysteries and spy novels.
Edward Kohl began serving on Clausen House's Board of Directors in 2011. Edward Kohl has been a a resident at Perkins since 2011.He says that Clausen House is the best place he has lived. Edward is active at the Clausen House community center. He takes creative writing classes and hopes to do some newsletter writing. He worked at a food bank but now works at the Clausen House Thrift Shop. Edward is interested in explaning to elected officials the importance of funding Clausen House programs and services.
Andreas Neyer is Vice President, Application Development Navis LLC, Part of Cargotec Corporation. Born and raised in Switzerland, Andreas came to the United States in 1984 to complete his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Shortly before completing graduate school, Andreas married Kathleen Callahan. From 1991-1995, Andreas and Kathleen and their children, Sarah and Christoph, lived in Switzerland, where Andreas managed an energy efficiency program for the Swiss Federal Government. Andreas enjoys the Bay Area, and after his return he settled with his family in Piedmont. Besides his career he is an active investor and enjoys golf, skiing, sailing, and traveling. Andreas has been involved with Clausen House since 1989, when he attended his first Clausen House gala. Since then, Andreas has been a Clausen House supporter, volunteer, and now board member and CFO.
Deborah F. Schweizer is a partner at Clapper, Patti, Schweizer & Mason, a civil litigation law firm that represents seriously injured people. In the past, Deborah has volunteered her time to serve as a mediator of landlord-tenant disputes, and as a pro bono attorney assisting battered or abused persons to obtain restraining orders, and assisting disabled persons to appeal their declination of benefits. In her spare time, Deborah enjoys supporting political causes, hiking, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoys taking her cousin Karla Lang, a Vernon resident, and her friends out to lunch and a movie. Deborah is a graduate of UC Berkeley and obtained her J.D. at New York Law School in New York City. Continuing her family's multi-generational commitment to Clausen House, Deborah follows in the footsteps of her mother, Ann Schweizer, a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Thrift Shop.
Arthur Yeap was born in Hong Kong and moved to San Francisco as a child. He and his wife, Katherine have one son, Alexander who has Down Syndrome. Arthur is a principal in Novo Group, a design firm specializing in acoustics, audio, lighting and television for houses of worship and higher education. He has been involved in a number of startups over the years ranging from iTV to specialty retail. He was a board member and Chairman of the Golden Gate Regional Center. He is presently on the board of CompCare which provides behavioral health care, and through his involvement as a trustee of Grace Cathedral was introduced to Clausen House by the Rev. Richard Schaper of the Episcopal Diocese.
